An Open Letter to Families Living in the Anaheim Union High School District

With the Anaheim Union High School District’s recent decision to impose tighter transfer rules, we felt it urgent to stress just how vital school choice is for so many local families.

Since the district imposed the new transfer rules in February, which diminishes the transfer period from six months to five weeks, more than 450 student transfer requests have been declined.

The Orange County Board of Education has seen a sharp spike in appeals because of this decision. Ken Williams, an OCBE trustee, said in an interview with The Orange County Register, “The (number of) cases that are coming before the county are the (most) … in my 22 years on the board.”

From the beginning at Epic Charter School, we’ve held the belief that public schools are not entitled to students. Students and families are entitled to a public education that meets their needs.

Families deserve the utmost freedom and flexibility when making decisions about their child’s education.

Epic Charter School offers more than a dozen core curricula, we create individualized learning plans, and offer free computer and internet access. While we hope you find your experience at Epic educationally invigorating and enjoyable, if you find the program isn’t the right fit for your family, you can transfer at any time.

Isn’t it time you step back into the driver’s seat when it comes to your student’s education?

Regain control of your student’s learning and experience the Epic difference by enrolling today.

Sincerely,

Paul MacGregor
