Customized Learning at No Cost
Aside from the flexibility of a personalized learning plan, one of the best aspects of Epic Charter School is that your child’s education comes at no cost. It sounds hard to believe, but since Epic is also considered a public school, there is no price tag. There is no tuition. That’s right – Epic is FREE.
But, what makes Epic customizable? Students enrolled in the Epic One-on-One Program are allotted a Learning Fund that can be appropriated by the parent for educational expenses. With this fund, you are able to choose from a variety of core curricula and supplemental curricula and tailor the programs to the student’s needs.
What’s more is that any funds remaining after the licensing of instructional materials can be used for extra-curricular activities such as music classes, art classes, athletic fees, and much more. How’s that for customized?
We believe that learning best occurs when:
- Students are provided an opportunity to receive instruction in a manner that appeals to them and their family.
- Within appropriate guidelines, the curriculum is self-paced to benefit the individual student.
- The curriculum is accessible to students at a time that is best suited for his/her learning style.
- One-to-one teaching is used as appropriate.
- Real life context-based learning is emphasized.
- Project-based learning is applied.
- There is supplemental enrichment through individualized instruction, independent study, field trips, apprenticeships, and appropriate uses of technology, etc.
